Shenandoah Valley Fiduciary Old Town Walking Mall Winchester, Virginia
Hunt Country Wealth Management is a community-based firm that offers world-class planning tools and investment strategies in a Main Street, client-first atmosphere.
As an independent firm, we have no proprietary products or shareholders to whom we answer. We offer fee-based financial advice, in-house investment management and income solutions for the growing retiree population. Here’s why our service values should matter to you:
- In-House Investment Management gives you access to greater control and transparency, as well as often experiencing lower fees. The art of investing requires skill and competency. If your current firm outsources, you are not talking directly to the plan strategist who knows firsthand your personal goals and objectives.
- Main Street, client-first service means a greater focus on relationship. Larger firms tend to focus on investment products, whereas our firm depends on relationships and referrals from right here in the community. No call queues or automated answering services here, just a team of professionals with whom you have a personal rapport.
- Fee-Based Financial Planning focuses on the process, not the product, with a goal of offering objective advice to help you make better financial decisions, and when possible, to elevate your money to a higher level of productivity and safekeeping.
2019 Women’s Choice Award®
Hunt Country Wealth Management is a proud recipient of the 2019 Women’s Choice Award® for Financial Advisors.
The Women’s Choice Award is the premier recognition award for advisors who provide quality service to their female clients. Women’s Choice Award® Financial Advisors and Firms represent less than 1% of financial advisors in the U.S. As of February 2016, of the 783 considered for the Women’s Choice Award, 122 were named Women’s Choice Award Financial Advisors/Firms.
Second Opinion- Coffee & Consultation
Are you looking for a second opinion? Are you happy with the quality and quantity of contact with your current advisor? We schedule complimentary, no obligation second-opinion consultations by appointment. If we think your current investments portfolio and risk assessment is well-suited for your goals we will gladly tell you so and send you on your way. If, on the other hand, we think your investments no longer fit your goals, we will give you a second opinion on why. And if you like, we will recommend some alternatives. Either way, the coffee is on us.
NextPhase™ Retirement Planning
Knowing if you have enough money to retire, and then planning to make that pool of money last as long as you need, is the focus of the NextPhase™ Retirement Income Planning Process. This time-segmented, inflation-adjusted strategy can help answer the key question: “Do I have enough retirement assets to last my lifetime?”
The Personal Wealth Plan™
Financial Planning provides direction and discipline. Without direction, people often make impulsive, emotional decisions which may actually conflict with each other and compound the complexity of your plan. Our Financial Planning Process integrates your resources with your goals and objectives. It strives to help you achieve your lifetime goals by providing clarity to your actions. Your plan will examine your present financial situation, review your insurance needs, analyze your investment selection(s), look for ways to minimize taxes and help you to determine how much you’ll need to accumulate for retirement, college, and other special goals, in addition to Estate Planning.
As a certified Behavioral Financial Advisor™, Chris Merchant is trained to help clients make better decisions throughout the financial planning process by aligning the plan with each client’s personal values while helping them achieve their goals along the way. The BFA™ designation integrates concepts of traditional finance, psychology and neuroscience as it relates to personal finance. Behavior Economics has been awarded the Nobel Prize six times since its inception in 1968. Per Vanguard’s Alpha Study*- Good advice from a financial advisor is worth around 3% in net returns. 1.5% comes from Behavioral Coaching. So half the value a good advisor brings to the table is helping clients manage their behavior and make better choices.
